Bridal Alterations FAQ's

First off, congratulations on your engagement!  Here is a list of commonly asked questions to help you navigate through this fitting experience.

How much time in advance should I schedule my first fitting?

I would say 6 - 8 weeks but don’t worry if more of less.

What if I plan to loose weight before my wedding?

That’s ok!  Just be within 3-5 pounds of your wedding weight at the first fitting.

How many fittings will I need?

2 - 3 fittings is usually all that is needed. Normally the final fitting is scheduled 2 weeks before your wedding day.

What can I expect on my first fitting?

First fittings normally take about 45 minutes to an hour.  During this appointment I will pin your dress to show you the alterations needed, discuss special requests,  the veil alterations  needed &  the bustle options available. After your dress is pinned, I will give you a firm price but keep in mind that the price can increase if additional alterations are needed.

What is your price range?

$400 - $900 per gown.

What will I need to bring to my first fitting?

You will need to have the shoes and undergarments that you plan to wear on that day.  Don’t worry if you don’t have the exact shoes you will wear as long as the shoes you bring are exactly the same height.

Can I bring a guest?

Absolutely!  Especially to the final fitting so I can show them how to help you into the gown,  how to tie up the bustles, etc. Just please keep in mind that the fitting space is limited.

Do you steam /press dresses?

I do, but I reccomend making arragements for a final steaming /pressing on your wedding day as your dress will get wrinkled during transportation.
